Happy Christmas
I just wanted to take some time to wish all our Rotherham Running Community & Club a very Happy Christmas, may all your running dreams come true for 2025!
To our loyal fully affiliated, social & second claim members thank you for your commitment and being part of our team, without your continued support we would not be able to be the amazing club that we are.
Our running community far and wide who are always welcomed to join our social and training schedules thankyou
Lastly non of this is possible without our committee and army of volunteers, the guys who are visible turning up no matter what, week after week guiding & leading social & training runs, others not so visible who do amazing work behind the scenes with endless spreadsheets, financial management, posting information on social media, website administration, facilitating teams and events, hosting races, engagement with funding, charity fundraising, fielding emails, enquiries, attending official meetings, kit, press, socialising!! and much much more, you are ALL important and extremely valuable… it’s not easy sometimes but we remember why we started this club and then keep pushing on.
Please join me in giving them a huge thankyou for their time and efforts.
Just a snippet of feedback below that tells us our club is fabulous;
“I joined in August I think it was, best decision I ever made tbh they’ve all been so welcoming and helpful”
“It is a very welcoming group, well done and thank you for creating such a safe atmosphere for us to enjoy”
“FAO anyone that's in this Facebook group who's thinking about running but not done it yet for some reason. Just DO IT. It's the most welcoming group of lovely, warm people you could wish to meet. I ran with them for the first time in September and join them every chance I get because of the warmth and friendship
that's come from it. In the pic are some of the regulars who I've become friends with since
joining in September”
(Committee members can be seen on the RRC website)
Keep moving & running guys

Thursday night track is a wrap for 2024!
There were 48 opportunities to run loops in an anti-clockwise manner and 111 of you took the opportunity to try it out. Some of you like it more than others and over the year we averaged 17 attendees per session, rising to over 23 since the beginning of August.No matter your goal or ability everyone is encouraged and supported and I've had a great year welcoming new faces and learning a lot of names!Thank you all for coming along, and I was humbled by the end of year gifts that Sarah Davis conspired to organise.I also want to give a shout out to John Fellows. John hasn't missed a session since 1st May even though he was injured for a couple of months. He still came down each week to encourage and support and covered for me when Honor Hamshaw dragged me away on holiday. He wasn't the only one, and it was
amazing to see other injured members come along to support the group even though
they were unable to run themselves. I hope we can continue the track journey together
in 2025 and look forward to seeing you all down at Herringthorpe in the new year.We're back on Thursday 2 January 2025, details of pain to follow...
