Our Weekly Club Runs
Rotherham Running Club is about may things, but first and foremost it's about being part of a positive and social community of people.
We support each other and train together, with everyone developing their abilities and reaching their goals.
If you’ve completed our Runspiration programme or run regularly already, then our social runs are suitable for you. Come along and there will be a suitable group for everyone.

Tuesday Roaming Runs
On our roaming runs, we meet at 18:30 at a different venue each week across the Rotherham area.
Each week's meeting point is shared to our Facebook page, and can be found here on the website,
We have a range of groups covering different distances and are suitable for people of all abilities, with absolutely no pressure.
There is often a head-torch option too, dependent on turn out and availability.
These runs are at a social pace with an optional drink afterwards in a local establishment.

Where do i run socially to suit my ability??
Often we get asked
"What will be suitable for me when attending a club run?"
"I’ve been running a while on and off"
"I’ve done a park run a few times around 35 minutes"
"I'm returning to running after a few years off"
"I’ve never ran and want to be able to run 5k or just use it for general fitness"
"I often run around 6 miles in the hour alone just want to run with others socially"
"I can run about 4 miles in the hour with a little rest here and there"
"I go to the gym and run/walk on the treadmill but I don’t think I can manage 30 minutes to 60 minutes run/ walk"
As a general rule for safety, the following guidelines would apply for current running or non-running ability;
Club run on a Tuesday and a Thursday -
5-6-7 miles around 60 - 70 mins - Group 1
4-6 miles steady pace with rest periods, around 60 -70 mins - Group 2
Runspiration on a Thursday (Herringthorpe Track) -
Short and long term goals to run 5k to 10k for new or returning runners unable to yet run the above distances
We try to accommodate runners abilities by supporting our running community and relying on our fabulous volunteers to lead you safely so you can enjoy your run and meet other runners.
